Who ?

L.A. consists of myself, Ian Simpson, and various other technicians who I use to help me on larger projects.

I have been a sound engineer for as long as I can remember, amongst many other technical and creative guises. I have a vast (over 20 years) and varied experience of the creative and entertainment industries, in everything from theatre to live music venues, clubs to festivals, and more recently film/TV/video productions.

What ?

I now specialise in sound recording for film and video, music recording, production and mastering. Ultimately I can, and do, record almost anything, from rock concerts to classical music concerts to buddhist chanting to sound effects.

I also do sound design for film and theatre

The hub of the business is the studio with both VST and Pro Tools set ups. I operate from a purpose built studio next to my home, so costs are kept to a minimum, allowing me to work for less than average commercial rates.

How ?

L.A. differs from other companies in that I adopt a minimalist and audiophile approach to all the work I agree to undertake; introducing new audiophile standards by combining knowledge gained form the high-end hi-fi markets and purist recording techniques, with my experience of pro-audio, giving the end user (truly) unbeatable quality.

Attention to detail and the pursuit of excellence is my passion. I love what I do and never tire of it. Every project is a new challenge, which means that quality, both in terms of sound and service, comes as standard.

L.A. provides you with state-of-the-art equipment, planning, knowledge and experience.. but more importantly imagination and enthusiasm.. always thinking outside of the box.

Why ?

L.A. was set up in response to a growing demand for more flexible, high-end location recording services, capable of operating across multimedia formats, rather than the rigid and rather unimaginative companies that currently exist in Media , Music and Pro Sound.

Where ?

L.A. is based in North East London, but I am happy to travel almost anywhere for most types of work.
